In 2024, the naira depreciated significantly, surging above 60%, driven by Nigeria's heavy reliance on import-dependent commodities. This dependence heightened demand for foreign currency, fueling inflation, which peaked at 34.6%. Without addressing low domestic production and inadequate foreign exchange inflows, the naira's struggles continued to strain Nigeria's economy.
